Beijing International Hotel, a towering triangular structure, features a front square filled with cypress trees, ponds and fountains. The hotel includes seven restaurants, most notably the Starlight, a revolving rooftop restaurant that offers 360 degree views of the city and serves Asian and Western buffets. Tanfu Restaurant, designed to resemble a Qing Dynasty home, includes a fish pond, a pool, flowers and grass, and serves Tau cuisine. Additional dining options include Shanghainese and Japanese cuisine, barbecue, pasta dishes and a variety of traditional regional favorites such as bird's nest, shark's fin and abalone. The International Conference Center offers an extensive array of conference and function facilities in a variety of settings. The hotel spa provides stress reduction and relaxation treatments, aromatherapy, mud baths and wraps. A shopping arcade is located in the hotel. Pets are not permitted. Guestrooms. The 28 story hotel's 916 guestrooms offer contemporary décor, and many rooms feature Chinese influenced décor with wood paneling. The Temple of Heaven, located four kilometers from the hotel, is a collection of Taoist buildings dating to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is a three gabled circular wood building set on a marble base. Its interior is brilliantly decorated in red, yellow, gold and blue. The complex also includes the smaller Vault of Heaven and the Circular Mound Altar.
